I have three main philosophies for teaching: (1) learning is a collaboration between instructor and student, (2) to be an effective instructor, you must be a lifelong student, and (3) learning can happen outside of the classroom: Using information education to promote interest and inclusivity in STEM. Ultimately, I aim to instill a sense of intrigue and excitement in the students that I teach with the goal of inspiring the next generation of informed scientists.
In 2018, I completed my Delta certification in research, teaching, and learning. Below you will find a copy of my teaching portfolio, including tangible examples of activities I implemented in the classroom and results from my teaching as research project.
